Man City fans have sent a message to Liverpool saying that anything they can do the Blues can do better after a resounding victory to kick off their second successive Premier League title defence.
Liverpool got the season up and running on Friday night as they hammered newly promoted Norwich City 4-1 at Anfield, immediately jumping to the top of the Premier League.
The Reds must have been hoping they'd get to spend at least a weekend at the top of the pile but in less than a day they have already been taken over by City.
Pep Guardiola's side picked up exactly where they left off following the FA Cup final victory and destroyed a West Ham side, who didn't actually play that badly, with ease.
It was only 1-0 at half-time thanks to Gabriel Jesus' opener but a superb Raheem Sterling hat-trick and a Sergio Aguero penalty completed the 5-0 rout in the second half, with City moving over Liverpool on goal difference.
City and Liverpool spent the entirety of last season at each other's throats as they competed at an unprecedented level of consistency and quality in the fight for the title.
If the first weekend of the season is anything to go by then it's set to be more of the same this year but City fans have warned Liverpool that City can always better them.
