Man City fans send Harry Kane the same message after Tottenham training update

Manchester City have ambushed England captain Harry Kane on social media - urging him to follow Jack Grealish and sign for the Premier League champions.

In the midst of the most high-profile transfer saga this summer, Kane remains a Tottenham player.

However, the 28 year old - who was a notable absentee from the matchday squad as City slipped to an opening day reverse against the Londoners - remains keen on a high-profile switch away.

It comes after an extended absence on the back of his Euro 2020 exploits.

Kane has been strongly linked with a move to City and the champions are genuinely interested in signing a three-time golden boot winner - despite some concerns that a pursuit is not currently financially viable.

He was initially viewed as a priority target, before City turned their attentions to a £100m swoop for Grealish.

Citing that move, though, supporters at the Etihad Stadium and beyond have not given up hope that Kane will be eventually flown in to replace Sergio Aguero before the window slams shut.

Addressing his 3.4million followers in a short update, Kane posted: "Another session in the bank."

Here are a selection of replies to that post from City supporters on popular social media platform Twitter.

@3azf_alhilal said: "Come here. With your club you will not get a cup."

@Z9O449872 posted: "You want to SKIP TRAINING... to join MAN CITY!"

@Hedghog111 added: "Means nothing. Grealish was training like normal before the move."

@Ali_Szn14 said: "Don't be shy mate. You'll be a City player by this Sunday."

@Cellular_Jnr posted: "He's getting ready to come to the Etihad."

@Neymology added: "Maintaining fitness before you travel to Manchester. My striker!"

@6arec said: "We are waiting for you."
