Man City fans scoff at Jadon Sancho 'home' statement in Manchester United announcement video

Manchester City fans were not too pleased with Jadon Sancho's announcement video on social media.

The England international wrapped up a £73million deal to sign for Manchester United.

He spent two years at Manchester City 's academy before making a bold move abroad to Borussia Dortmund after being dissatisfied by his lack of opportunities under Pep Guardiola.

And United made a tongue-in-cheek reference to Sancho 's time at City dubbing his arrival as his 'homecoming.'

City fans were quick to spot the reference and took to social media to respond.

@JoeGreen1992 : So I see Watford-born Chelsea fan, formerly of Manchester City's academy, Jadon Sancho has found his way 'home'. #orite

@THFCRes : So.. Jadon Sancho Is from South London, Supports Chelsea, Played For Man City, Said Manchester was blue, Has now signed for Manchester United and has the audacity to say "This is my club, This is where I belong"

@McfcRobbo23 : small club mentality from them

@DarrenCarson2 : If the ‘dig’ comes with a nice cheque for £11 million then thank you very much

@H_Subhanee : Loool we all know he’s been forced to say that

Sancho will join up with his United teammates once he returns from his break after competing at Euro 2020.

He will likely face his old club in the Manchester Derby on 6th November at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

City fans will be looking for revenge after the former academy product's words in what promises to be an enticing clash.

Despite leaving City, Guardiola seems to have no hard feelings with Sancho.

"I've said many times, it is not a regret. He decides. He's doing really well," Guardiola told reporters back in March.

"Congratulations, he's an exceptional player.

"He is a national team player with huge quality, doing really well in Dortmund.

"We wanted him to stay but he decided to leave, and when people decide to leave all we can do is [let them] leave.

"I wish him all the best, except when he plays against us. No regrets at all. If he's happy, I'm happy."
