Man City fans say the same thing after drawing Real Madrid in Champions League

Instead of being gutted that they got the hardest possible draw, Man City fans can't wait for the challenge after drawing Real Madrid  in the Champions League Last-16.

Following the conclusion of the group stages last week the draw was held on Monday in Nyon and City were drawn out of the hat in the second fixture against the Spanish giants.

The Blues are renowned for getting favourable draws in domestic competitions but their reward for finishing top of their group is a knock-out tie against the 13 time holders of the Champions League, who finished second in their group to Paris Saint-Germain.

Pep Guardiola's side could only be drawn against a possible five sides, as they couldn't face a fellow English team or Atalanta, who finished second in their group.

City missed out on potentially easier ties against Lyon, Napoli, Atletico Madrid or Borussia Dortmund.

The first leg will either be played on Wednesday. 26 February while the second leg will be on the Tuesday, 17 March.

The game will be a rematch of the 2016 semi-final in which Los Blancos just edged the two-legged affair 1-0 on aggregate courtesy of an own-goal from Fernando.

Although they did stutter with two draws in their final three games, the Blues won their group at a canter with double the amount of points as the second placed side. They remained undefeated, with four wins and two draws, and were only outscored by PSG and Bayern Munich in the group stages.

Though City's Premier League hopes may be slipping away they remain in good stead in Europe and are still the bookies' favourites to win the competition for the first time in their history.

While the road to Istanbul couldn't have been made much harder with the draw against Madrid, City fans can't wait for the game and are excited to face-off against one of Europe's elite.

You can see a selection of their reactions below:

Here we go

Nothing to lose
