Man City fans react to Rodri and David Silva team news vs Liverpool FC

Manchester City fans feel the momentum is with their side after Pep Guardiola named Rodri and David Silva in his matchday squad to face Liverpool on Sunday.

City travelled to Anfield knowing a win would take them to within three points of their title rivals, but Guardiola had previously indicated that Rodri and Silva would be absent until after the international break.

Rodri had taken part in light training before City's trip to Atalanta in midweek, but did not join his teammates in Italy. Silva, meanwhile, was substituted at half time of City's Premier League win over Southampton last weekend and missed the Atalanta draw.

But the duo have returned to the bench at Anfield, providing Guardiola a major boost in a crucial game between the top two sides in the Premier League.

With Ederson injured - despite earlier rumours he could play - Claudio Bravo started in goal.

Kyle Walker, John Stones, Fernandinho and Angelino were named in defence, with Benjamin Mendy absent completely.

Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan, and Kevin de Bruyne compete in midfield, with Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero ahead of them.

But fans were buoyed by the return of Rodri in midfield and David Silva on the bench, feeling their chances of victory are enhanced with the pair back in the squad.
