Man City fans react to Kevin De Bruyne's wonder goal in Newcastle draw

Man City supporters have been left stunned by Kevin De Bruyne's magnificent volley in the 2-2 draw with Newcastle United at St. James Park.

City had taken the lead in the first-half through Raheem Sterling but were pegged back just three minutes later when left-back Jetro Willems cut inside and hit a low drive past Ederson.

The second-half was a dogged affair with City well below their best and struggling to break down a stubborn Magpies defence when De Bruyne stuck.

The ball was cleared to the Belgian on the edge of the D and he effortlessly chested it down before unleashing a thunderous volley that fired in off the cross-bar.

It was a sensational strike that was worthy of winning any game but sadly for City, Newcastle had an answer for it with a brilliant goal of their own this time just six minutes later.

A free-kick in a crossing position was cut back to Jonjo Shelvey who whipped a rasping shot from 30 yards into the far corner of the goal.

The game finished 2-2 and it's yet another costly blow in the Premier League title race as it gives league leaders Liverpool the opportunity to go 11 points clear of the Blues when they take on Brighton later on on Saturday.

Regardless, De Bruyne's goal was sublime and City fans were still left gob smacked by the goal of the season contender.
