Manchester have made another shrewd transfer move this evening after they announced the signing of Joao Cancelo.
The Blues struck a deal with Juventus which has seen Danilo leave and Cancelo make the switch to the Etihad Stadium in turn.
The 25-year-old Portuguese international made 22 starts in the Serie A for Juventus last season but City set their eyes on him well before the summer transfer window and have now got their man.
Unhappy with some of the inconsistency shown by right-back Kyle Walker, Cancelo has been brought in to put pressure on the England international and maybe even take over his role. He could also fight for the left-back position in the squad.
On the move, he said: “City are a fantastic club, with a brilliant manager and I am delighted to be here,” said Cancelo after agreeing personal terms and completing his medical.
“Everything about them has impressed me, from the facilities, to their style of play.
“I am always looking to develop my game and win trophies and I believe I can do that here, so now I’m really looking forward to the new season and testing myself in the Premier League.”
The deal, which has taken a while to announce, is one that has seen City fans react in unison. It's safe to say this transfer has got fans excited.
