Man City fans react as Jack Grealish rejoins Aston Villa training amid £100m transfer offer

Jack Grealish has trained with some of his Aston Villa team-mates today ahead of the start of the new Premier League season, amid ongoing links with a move to Manchester City.

The Birmingham-born playmaker, who made five appearances for England at the European Championship, is the subject of a £100million bid from City, as the Etihad Stadium outfit look to step up their summer recruitment drive.

As reported by MEN Sport on Friday, City have tabled a £100million offer for the attacking-midfielder, with Grealish now understood to be weighing up whether or not to stay at Villa, who have offered him a new contract, or make the move to the Etihad Stadium.

However, despite both the club and City's fans feeling confident about their chances of landing the talented 25-year-old, he has reported back for pre-season training at Villa, implying that no move to the Etihad Stadium is on the brink, certainly not at this moment in time.

He was pictured by supporters training with some members of the Villa squad, including fellow England international Tyrone Mings, as he prepares to link back up with the remainder of the first-team squad in the coming week.

Unsurprisingly, the fact that Grealish has been spotted in Villa training wear and training with Mings has gone down very well with the Villa supporters, whereas City's fans are refusing to lose hope of him making the switch to Manchester.

Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what some City fans have had to say in response to Grealish training at Villa.

As you can see, City fans do not appear to be overly concerned by the fact that Grealish has reported back to pre-season training in the Midlands.

As correctly outlined in some of the above messages, Grealish is currently contracted to Villa and simply carrying out his duty by reporting back for training.

Grealish's return to Villa has carries a similar feel to when Kevin De Bruyne trained with his Wolfsburg team-mates ahead of making his move to City.

Time will tell on whether or not the former Notts County loanee makes the switch to City, but the Etihad Stadium outfit will remain hopeful that they can lay their hands on the England international this summer.
