Man City fans react after Pep Guardiola drops Sergio Aguero for clash with Everton

Man City fans are split on Pep Guardiola's team selection after he decided to start Gabriel Jesus ahead of Sergio Aguero against Everton.

Guardiola has a tendency to rotate and he's done so once again with Sergio Aguero dropping to the bench for the game on Merseyside.

City travel to Goodison Park in need of a victory after Liverpool scraped a 1-0 win in the day's early kick-off against Sheffield United which extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points.

It may still be early days but, considering how tight last year's title race was, such a significant lead could set the tone for the rest of the campaign.

Despite the importance of the fixture, Guardiola has dropped his star striker, captain and one of his most influential midfielders to the bench.

Aguero, David Silva and Bernardo Silva are all substitutes with Jesus, Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez starting.

The majority of City fans were surprised to see Aguero drop to the bench, but some are pleased to see Mahrez named in the starting XI.

Nice.

Mahrez deserves his chance.

Not good news for Fantasy Football managers.

Mahrez masterclass incoming.

Strange decision.

Why?

The reaction hasn't been all negative.

Man City XI vs Everton: Ederson; Walker, Fernandinho, Otamendi, Zinchenko; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling.

Substitutes: Bravo, Mendy, Cancelo, Silva, Bernardo, Foden, Aguero.
