Man City fans predict derby result and choose all-time favourite win over Manchester United

Manchester City fans are confident about their chances in today's derby at Old Trafford.

We asked Blues to give us their prediction for the first Manchester derby of the season - more than 750 submitted their answers to our survey, and a massive 82 per cent of them think City will beat Manchester United.

With the Manchester derby this weekend with each clash of the titans having a sense of greater importance as each occasion rolls by. Saturday's clash between Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Pep Guardiola is no different.

As well as giving us their match predictions we also asked them to tell us their favourite derby.

Unsurprisingly, City's famous 6-1 drubbing of their closest rivals, Manchester United, in October 2011 was a clear favourite in fans' eyes as the most memorable game.

An Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli brace - including that famous 'Why Always Me' celebration - as part of the 6-1 thrashing at Old Trafford in 2011 was a resounding favourite amongst supporters obtaining 65 per cent.

Whilst, Vincent Kompany's title-winning strike at the Etihad against Sir Alex Ferguson's side in 2012 saw 15 per cent of the votes came in second.

The Maine Road massacre came shortly behind with 11 per cent as the Dennis Law backheel in 1974 and the win that booked City's place in the FA Cup final in 2011 both received three per cent of the vote.

Shaun Goater versus Gary Neville in the Blues' 2002 3-1 win could only muster two per cent.

Ahead of Saturday's clash with Manchester United's recent injury struggles, 82 per cent think Pep will get it right and overcome United. with seven per cent fearing a defeat as 11 per cent of fans couldn't be swayed and settled for a draw.
