Man City fans plan show of support for Pep Guardiola's team ahead of two crunch matches

Manchester City fans are planning a show of appreciation for the team ahead of two crucial games next week.

Blues supporters are intending to turn up at the Etihad Stadium to cheer the team bus as it makes the short journey from the training ground at the City Football Academy to the ground before the second leg of the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.

City will take a 2-1 lead over Paris Saint-Germain into that game, and a win, draw, or even a 1-0 defeat would propel them into the first Champions League final in their history, to be staged in Istanbul on May 29.

And four days later, they plan a repeat greeting when Chelsea are the opposition - depending on results this weekend, City could already be champions by then, or they could clinch the title with a win, if they beat Crystal Palace this weekend.

Posts on social media say: “It seems many fans will be heading down to the stadium before these two fixtures to give the boys a cheer.

“The players have been honest, dedicated and played their hearts out for us the supporters.

“We will be crowned champions, it’s just a matter of when.

“We could be champions by the time we play PSG on 4th May, on a night when we will try to get to Istanbul.

“We could win the league against Chelsea on 8th May. Bring your banners and show your support for the players whilst being mindful of social distancing rules.”
