Man City fans outnumber Aston Villa supporters at Wembley for the Carabao Cup final

Manchester City fans outnumbered those from Aston Villa by around 600 at Wembley today.

The narrative in the build-up to the Carabao Cup final was around City being unable to sell all of their 35,121 allocation for the game, as some of their upper-range seats, costing between £125 and £150 went unsold.

That ignored the fact that this was the Blues' fourth expensive trip to Wembley in the last year, and their 16th appearance at the venue in the last ten years.

City were given the bigger allocation, getting 35,121, and they had around 34,600 inside the stadium.

That was still more than Villa, who sold out their 33,908 allocation.
