Man City fans name change Pep Guardiola must make ahead of Southampton Premier League clash

Manchester City fans have called for Pep Guardiola to drop Gabriel Jesus for this weekend's Premier League clash against Southampton.

Guardiola fielded a strong side against the Saints in midweek, opting to play both Jesus and Sergio Aguero in attack - the first time he has done so since September 2018.

Both forwards have been rotated frequently throughout the season and it was Aguero who stole the headlines on his 350th Man City appearance, scoring twice in the 3-1 win.

Given Southampton's dismal form and the relatively straightforward victory in midweek, Guardiola may opt to rest his key players with important fixtures against Liverpool and Chelsea on the horizon.

Jesus was quiet during the Carabao Cup clash and fans believe Aguero has done enough to warrant a place in the starting XI at the Brazilian's expense.

MEN Sport asked which player should lead the line on Saturday with the vast majority giving the Argentine the nod.

64 per cent of the 749 respondents believe Aguero should start up top, with Jesus dropping to the bench as Raheem Sterling would occupy the left wing role.

19 per cent of respondents wanted Guardiola to keep both forwards on the field.

Just 16 per cent of respondents wished that Aguero would drop to the bench and Jesus would lead the line.

One per cent of respondents called for both players to be dropped, with two fans suggesting Sterling should be played through the middle.
