Man City fans making the same joke about Jack Grealish after Sergio Aguero-inspired kit launch

Manchester City fans have reacted after club introduced their new home kit for the 2021/22 season.

The new shirt pays homage to Sergio Aguero's historic Premier League title-winning goal which will be a whole decade ago, come the end of the upcoming campaign.

It features the '93:20' timestamp for the goal on the inside of the collar, while the number '10' is highlighted with the same number. The shirt is textured with a scoreboard pattern, with a white stripe down either side.

Some City fans though are feeling sentimental as they wish Aguero was still at the club to wear the kit, which celebrates his iconic injury-time goal against QPR.

Aguero departed City this summer to join Barcelona, but will be immortalised with a statue and was given a mosaic at the City Football Academy.

Manchester City fan Tam Carleone tweeted: "It's so sad that Sergio isn't here to wear this jersey this season."

David Head added: "So this was made as a tribute to Aguero and he is not even here to wear it?"

The sky blue shirt was introduced along with a video on Manchester City's official Twitter account which showed Aguero's goal against QPR.

One person commented that it was the day City "showed United who's boss" while another commented on a line from the video saying "Love the word(ing) 'we don't do it the easy way'.".

Others used the kit announcement to talk up the potential of a summer transfer for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.

Ryan tweeted: "@JackGrealish you like mate," while prxsham said: "Classic kit! @JackGrealish you'll look good in this one."

There was a mixed reaction to the kit however, with some that love the kit, some who feel it could be better and others who feel that it is overpriced.

James Bennison tweeted: "Love the top but come on those prices are too high."

FerranTheBoss commented: "Ngl, love that kit come on Citeh," while another City fan, Frank, was not pleased as they wrote: "Shocking yet again we need to move away from Puma not good enough."
