Manchester City fans are in disbelief at the news that Aymeric Laporte has finally been called up to the France national squad.
Laporte, one of City's most consistent performers last season, has been consistently overlooked by Didier Deschamps over the last two years. Now, though, he has been rewarded for a fine season at City with his first call-up since March 2017.
The sight of France squads without Laporte has become a familiar sight for City fans, who have been making their case for the centre-back to receive recognition from the World Champions for some time.
But now their calls have finally been answered, fans can barely believe what they are seeing as Laporte will hope to win his first cap in the games against Albania and Algeria next week.
