Man City fans make prediction for crucial Premier League fixture with Liverpool

Man City fans are confident of a victory when the team travel to Anfield next Sunday to take on Liverpool in what could be a decisive game in the Premier League title race.

Liverpool remained six points clear of City at the top of the league on Saturday after they mounted a last gasp comeback to defeat Aston Villa.

Despite having five times as many shots and the lion's share of possession, Liverpool were struggling to break a stubborn Villa defence down after they took the lead on the 21st minute.

It wasn't until there was three minutes remaining did they finally draw level as Andrew Robertson powered home a back post header.

Then they would win the game in the 94th minute thanks to another header, this time deftly flicked in at the near post by Sadio Mane.

City had their own late dramatics, too, as they came from a goal down to defeat Southampton.

James Ward-Prowse had given the Saints a shock lead and they held firm as the Blues threw everything at them, though they eventually broke when Sergio Aguero smashed in the equaliser.

The winner came with four minutes remaining as Kyle Walker pounced on a loose ball to fire it into the roof of the net and send the Etihad in raptures.

The results have set up a deliciously poised blockbuster meeting next Sunday, when the teams face-off for the first time this season.

The game could hold massive ramifications for the rest of the campaign and is almost a must win for City, as they will fall nine points behind if they lose - though fans aren't worried about that possibility.

MEN Sport asked City fans: 'City face Liverpool in the massive Premier League clash a week today but what will the result be?'

An overwhelming 71 per cent of the 1,413 voters think that City will win the clash, halving Liverpool's lead to just three points.

15 per cent of fans think the game will be a draw whereas just 14 per cent think Liverpool will claim the three points and extent their lead.
