Man City fans make Phil Foden demand ahead of Cardiff game

Manchester City supporters have called for Phil Foden to be recalled to Pep Guardiola's first team for Wednesday night's visit of Cardiff to the Etihad Stadium.

The 18-year-old midfielder was absent from the matchday squad as City comfortably beat Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Foden has still to start a league game in his City career, with calls from some quarters for the prospect to be sent out on loan.

City rebuffed that notion last week amid interest from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, with Guardiola said to be determined to hold onto the academy graduate.

Foden has scored six goals and provided three assists in his 33 City appearances to date, and Guardiola has repeatedly insisted that the full compliment of his squad will be required for the Blues to win an unprecedented quadruple of trophies this season.

Foden played a starring role in City's run to the Carabao Cup final earlier this season and a group of City fans on Twitter feel it is time for his talents to be enjoyed in the Premier League.
