Man City fans make Leroy Sane prediction after Liverpool FC team news

Manchester City fans think Leroy Sane will be staying at the club after he was named on Pep Guardiola's first team sheet of the season against rivals Liverpool in the Community Shield.

Sane continues to be subject of speculation around a possible move to Bayern Munich, and some reports had suggested he would be left out to avoid the chance of injury before a move to Bavaria.

However, Guardiola named the winger - who scored the winner the last time City faced Liverpool - in his starting XI and fans felt his inclusion could be seen as an indication he is staying.

Elsewhere in the starting team, Aymeric Laporte was absent as expected after he was not spotted in the travelling squad, so Nicolas Otamendi gets the nod at centre-back despite only returning to training this week.

Up front, Raheem Sterling resumes the central role he occupied in pre-season, with Sergio Aguero on the bench alongside Gabriel Jesus.

Pep Guardiola had already confirmed Claudio Bravo would start after playing every minute of pre-season, and he was protected by Stones, Otamendi, Kyle Walker and Oleks Zinchenko at the back.

In midfield, new record signing Rodri is named to make his competitive debut, with Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva completing the side.

But fans were only concerned at the news Sane was starting, and took the opportunity to mock the reports from Germany.

Full Man City starting XI vs Liverpool: Bravo, Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Zinchenko, Rodri, Silva (C), De Bruyne, Sane, Bernardo, Sterling

Substitutes: Ederson, Gundogan, Jesus, Aguero, Angelino, Foden, E Garcia
