Man City fans issue mocking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer message after win at Manchester United

Manchester City returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Following a surprise defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend, City needed a response - and did so, with ease.

City were on top from the off, with Eric Bailly scoring an own goal in the opening minutes and Bernardo Silva poking home at the far post moments before the break.

Only saves from David de Gea in the first half and the post to deny Phil Foden in the second stopped United from being on the receiving end of another drubbing.

Pressure has mounted back upon Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the loss, which comes following a disappointing string of results - including a 5-0 hammering at the hands of Liverpool two weeks ago.

The home fans at Old Trafford made their feelings clear during the game, booing the team at half-time and after the final whistle.

Solskjaer will now be under even more scrutiny heading into the final international break of the calendar year, with the axe potentially ready to swing.

However, while United fans are keen for a change, many City fans took to social media after the game to poke fun at their arch-rivals and urged the club to retain the Norwegian boss.

Many used the hashtag '#OleIn' to make their feelings on the matter, with it clear they wanted to see United's struggles continuing.

Solskjaer is now odds-on to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job following the result and the next few days could be crucial.
