Man City fans identify future captain after Tottenham Hotspur victory

Manchester City supporters believe Bernardo Silva exhibited the traits of a future captain in Manchester City's 1-0 victory over Tottenham.

The Blues bounced back from defeat by Spurs in the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday after Phil Foden's fifth-minute header went unanswered at the Etihad.

It ensured City remain in pole position for a maiden Premier League title defence, with Pep Guardiola's side guaranteed to pip Liverpool with victory in each of their four remaining games.

Foden's header came amid an electric start by City, with Bernardo Silva proving a persistent thorn in Tottenham's side.

The Portuguese midfielder laid on the cross that led to Foden's first Premier League goal, and City supporters were taken by the way in which the 24-year-old gave his man-of-the-match award to Foden after the game to mark the 18-year-old's landmark goal.

Bernardo is on the shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year award along with Raheem Sterling after his impressive perfromances this season, and City fans on Twitter believe the former Monaco prospect should wear the armband at the Etihad when Vincent Kompany ends his illustrious Blues career.
