Man City fans give verdict on Leroy Sane future amid Bayern Munich transfer speculation

Manchester City fans do not want to see forward Leroy Sane sold in the January transfer window amid speculation linking him with a move to Bayern Munich.

The Germany international is a transfer target for the Bundesliga champions who see the Man City winger as the man to complete their attack following the departures of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

Sane was heavily linked with a summer switch to Munich but an injury against Liverpool in the Community Shield saw Bayern turn their attentions elsewhere, signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona on loan.

Reports in Germany suggest Sane's injury hasn't deterred their interest, claiming they will make another move for his services in the winter transfer window.

Given the uncertainty around his future and the possible negative effect it could have on the squad, MEN Sport asked City fans on Twitter whether Sane should be sold in the upcoming window.

63 per cent of the 1,237 respondents want Sane to remain at the club and play a role in the club's title challenge in the New Year.

37 per cent of respondents feel that the 23-year-old should be offloaded if Bayern come calling.

Back in September, Bayern president Uli Hoeness was eager to downplay reports linking Sane with a move back to the Bundesliga.

He said: "To be honest I have no eye on him at all because I don't speak about players of other clubs in public.

"The FIFA rules don't allow that anyway. And I will always stick to that."
