Man City fans furious over Spurs handball hypocrisy in Champions League final vs Liverpool FC

Manchester City fans were furious at the penalty given to Liverpool against Tottenham in the Champions League final - because they felt it was a similar incident to the goal that sent them out of the competition in the quarter-finals.

City were knocked out of the Champions League to Spurs on away goals with Fernando Llorente's bundled finish proving decisive in the second leg.

But replays showed the goal came off Llorente's arm, and new rules introduced next season would have seen them awarded a free kick. However, the referee deemed the handball was not intentional and the goal stood.

So when Liverpool were awarded a penalty for handball in the Champions League final, fans were frustrated to see the decision given.

A cross hit Spurs midfielder Moussa Sissoko on the chest before quickly bouncing up onto his outstretched arm. Sissoko argued he couldn't have known about the handball because of the deflection off his chest, but the referee disagreed and Mo Salah dispatched the spot kick.

And City fans were quick to remind Spurs fans complaining about the decision of the Llorente goal at the Etihad earlier in the competition.
