Man City fans furious as Raheem Sterling 'misses out' on PFA Player of the Year

Manchester City fans have reacted to the decision to hand Virgil van Dijk the PFA Player of the Year award.

MailOnline revealed this evening that the Liverpool star has beaten Man City 's Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero, plus the likes of Chelsea forward Eden Hazard.

This has led to a negative reaction from Man City fans ahead of this evening's clash at Manchester United. Prior to the contest, Sterling had 17 goals and nine assists on the season.

The England international has taken his game to another level this season but Van Dijk landed the gong after inspiring Liverpool in the Premier League , with the Reds having the best record for goals conceded in the competition.

But Blues' fans feels that Sterling should have landed the award and let their frustrations be known on social media this afternoon following the leaked announcement, which will be confirmed in due course.
