Man City fans concerned with two players missing from team to face Tottenham Hotspur in Champions League clash

Man City fans have mixed feelings with Pep Guardiola's team selection in the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Tottenham and have concerns about two missing players.

Supporters are delighted that Kevin De Bruyne and the returning Bernardo Silva are in the starting line-up, but are worried by the fact Leroy Sane and Fernandinho have both been left on the bench for the crunch clash.

City are a goal down from the first leg in North London after Heung-min Son fired Spurs into a late lead, following Sergio Aguero's missed penalty earlier in proceedings.

Guardiola came in for criticism in the aftermath of the defeat for his negative tactics and strange team selection.

City played very defensive, unlike any other performance this season, as though they were trying to conserve as much energy as possible.

Supporters were also perplexed at star attackers De Bruyne and Sane being left on the bench and only being brought on in the 89th minute, with no time to make an impact on the game.

The full Man City starting XI is: Ederson; Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Mendy; Gundogan, De Bruyne, Silva; Bernardo, Aguero, Sterling.

Substitutes: Muric, Stones, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Sane, Mahrez, Jesus.

De Bruyne may be back in the starting line-up after a brilliant performance against Crystal Palace at the weekend but the continued absence of Sane and Fernandinho has been a cause of concern for some City fans.
