Man City fans are all saying the same thing about Douglas Luiz to Aston Villa transfer agreement

Aston Villa have agreed a £15million deal to sign Douglas Luiz from Manchester City .

The BBC reported on Friday morning that Villa moved for Luiz on the strong recommendation of their sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch.

City signed Luiz from Vasco da Gama in August 2017 but he has never played a competitive game for the club. The Brazilian has spent the last two seasons on loan at City Football Group-owned Girona.

Pep Guardiola was keen on retaining Luiz as a member of his squad going into last season but the player was not granted a work permit.

"I am so sad and disappointed for Douglas because he could help us, play with us," Guardiola said of the decision not to grant Luiz a work permit.

"He has shown many good things in training sessions and the reason why we spent a lot of money to buy him is because he is a player with a huge capacity to play for us.”

Villa are said to be confident they will not encounter the same problem if Luiz signs for them - and City fans can't quite understand why.

Why?

Doesn't make any sense.

Double standards.

How?

However, moving to Villa will give Luiz the amount of points he needs to secure a work permit. It has been suggested that City will include a buy-back clause in the deal.
