Man City fans all make the same David Silva claim as he announces departure

The day David Silva leaves Manchester City is one fans will have been dreading for some time, so it is some consolation that the magician will remain at the club for one more season.

Silva confirmed he will leave City at the end of the 2019/20 season, bringing to an end his ten year association with the club.

In that time, Silva has lifted ten trophies across his 396 appearances, contributing 71 goals and 129 assists.

Explaining his decision to the Daily Mail: Silva said: “This is the last one. Ten years for me is enough. It’s the perfect time.

“Initially the club were talking about two years (contract) but I decided to sign another one so I finished at 10 years.

“It completes the cycle. It’s a nice round figure. I can never see myself playing against City for another team. So 10 years — that’s it!”

With City fans still getting over the departure of Vincent Kompany, they were understandably upset to hear Silva will follow him out of the Etihad next summer.

But Silva's decision came with another feeling for City fans, as they reflected on possibly the best player to represent the club.

That's some legacy to leave.
