Man City fan points out Liverpool FC Mohamed Salah stat after Phil Foden scores first Premier League goal

Phil Foden scored his first Premier League goal for Manchester City as he opened the scoring against Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday's lunchtime fixture in the Premier League.

The 18-year-old, starting in the top flight for just the second time in his career, nodded the ball home from close range in the fifth minute after good work from Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero.

The strike was Foden's seventh of the season in all competitions after goals in the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup earlier in the campaign.

Incredibly, it also took Foden level with Mo Salah for goals from open play against top-six clubs this season. Salah's screamer against Chelsea last weekend was his first from open play against a top-six side this term.

Contrastingly, City's top scorer Sergio Aguero has scored seven times from open play against teams inside the top six this season: one against United, one against Liverpool, three against Arsenal and two against Chelsea.

Asked prior to kick-off what he expected from Foden after naming him in City's starting line-up, Pep Guardiola said: "What he is, no more than that. What he has done every time he played and every day in the training session, so nothing special. He's a young player and he can do whatever he wants."
