Man City fan Noel Gallagher aims dig at Liverpool's Jordan Henderson in David Silva claim

Man City fan and former Oasis star Noel Gallagher has issued a dig at Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson after talking about David Silva's career at the Blues.

Silva is set to leave the Etihad Stadium after ten years of excellent play for the club since his arrival from Valencia back in 2010.

The Spaniard has won four Premier League titles with City so there is no wonder Gallagher was quick to praise the midfielder ahead of his final league game today against Norwich City.

Whilst reeling off praise aplenty for City 's Silva, though, Gallagher could not stop himself from having a dig at Jordan Henderson.

The England midfielder, of course, won the Football Writers' Player of the Season award in recent days but Gallagher issued a sly dig his way after discussing Silva's lack of individual awards.

“It’s a bad day, it’s a dark day,” Gallagher told talkSPORT when asked about Silva leaving City.

“He’s won one award in 10 years, and I think he’s won Player of the Month once.

“He’s been in the team of the season twice. He’s no Jordan Henderson, but that’s another thing.

“He was so sublime you almost didn’t notice he was playing, but he will be sorely missed and he’ll never be replaced. I wouldn’t be surprised if they retire his jersey.”
