Man City face nervous wait on Ruben Dias and Rodri ahead of Tottenham

Pep Guardiola could not confirm if Ruben Dias will be fit to face Tottenham as he waits for news on the extent of Rodri's injury.

Dias missed his first match since moving to Manchester City from Benfica in September, absent from the matchday squad at Swansea after 30 consecutive appearances in them. He was unable to train on Tuesday as he had a fever and will likely only have one day to show he is over his problem before the Premier League match against Jose Mourinho's side on Saturday.

There is also concern for Rodri, who was forced off injured in the final 20 minutes of the 3-1 win at the Liberty Stadium having continued his impressive form to ensure the Blues were in a winning position. Fernandinho was also missing with a problem in his quad, meaning Claudio Gomes came on for Rodri in his first appearance for City since 2018.

"I didn't speak with Rodri but the doctor didn't tell me anything so hopefully he'll be fit. We will see in the next hours," said Guardiola.

"Ruben had a fever and still has a problem with his stomach. That's why he was not able to train yesterday and today we travelled. Fernandinho had some niggles in the quad and he was not able to play."

City joined Bournemouth and Manchester United in booking their place in the last eight of the FA Cup as they eased past Swansea in freezing conditions at the Liberty Stadium, with Guardiola notching his 200th win as City boss in just his 268th game.
