Manchester City are ready to back Pep Guardiola in the January transfer market.
That will provide further proof that City believe Guardiola is staying for the long term to rebuild his squad which looks set to surrender their Premier League title this season.
City are in the market for reinforcements this month to shore up their leaky defence which has been the biggest weakness this month.
They have been watching Inter Milan’s Slovakia defender Milan Skriniar who has also been targeted by Barcelona and Real Madrid .
Skriniar, 24, is establishing himself as one of Europe’s most sought after defenders while City have other targets on the list and are ready to buy in January if they can get one of their top targets.
Aymeric Laporte is set to give City a boost by returning to fitness by the end of the month after a long term knee injury.
