Man City 'eyeing' FC Midtjylland starlet Ousmane Diomande and other transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly eyeing up a move for FC Midtjylland's teenage defender Ousmane Diomande.

The 19-year-old Ivorian centre-back is currently on loan at Portuguese second-tier side Mafra. However, during his spell at his temporary club he is claimed to have caught the eye of some of Europe's biggest clubs.

According to the Evening Standard, both Arsenal and City are thought to be looking at Diomande, who would command a fee of roughly £7million. FC Midtjylland's sporting director Svend Graversen has also admitted that teams are looking at the young defender but did not mention any names.

He told Tipsbladet: "It is no secret that there is huge interest in him. Then we have to see if there is something that can match what we want.

"We could see that he was really talented. What is perhaps surprising is the price of these players - especially the young ones.

"It only goes one way. It's just a market that keeps on developing all the time, and it is only getting faster."

Elsewhere, reports this week have linked AC Milan with a move for Joao Cancelo. However, SPORT now claim that Barcelona are also monitoring the Portuguese defender.

Like Milan, Barca are just tracking Cancelo but they could be on the lookout for a right-back given Hector Bellerin's underwhelming form at Camp Nou.
