Man City 'eyeing Bundesliga star as a free agent' and other transfer rumours

Manchester City are one of several top clubs across Europe weighing up a move for Eintracht Frankfurt attacking midfielder Daichi Kamada, according to reports.

Kamada, who has been a central part of the Bundesliga side's success in recent seasons, will see his contract at Frankfurt expire in the summer, meaning he is now free to discuss pre-contract agreements with non-German clubs. The Japan international was pivotal to last year's Europa League glory and has registered 13 goals and four assists so far this campaign.

Having made no secret of his openness to a new project elsewhere, speculation has been gathering momentum as to whether Kamada would run down his deal at Frankfurt before looking elsewhere. And 90min report that City are one of several European clubs monitoring the 26-year-old's situation.

Pep Guardiola's side will likely face competition from other top Premier League clubs, with the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle United and Liverpool all named. Across the continent, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be weighing up an approach.

Elsewhere, Tottenham coach Cristian Stellini has admitted his side are long-time admirers of the City-linked midfielder James Maddison.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the Leicester City talisman in recent weeks, with Guardiola possibly planning a midfield revamp over the summer. Maddison's eight goals and four assists this season have been crucial in keeping the Foxes above major relegation trouble.

Speaking ahead of his Spurs side facing Leicester, Stellini said: “We like Maddison. He is an important player in this league, a player with an important type of skill, like his delivery, his crossing, his right foot is a very important foot so he shoots, he crosses, he takes the set-pieces."

The England international has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the King Power Stadium, with silence over a fresh deal making this summer the last moment for Brendan Rodgers' side to cash in.
