Man City eye Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos and more transfer rumours

Manchester City have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos in the upcoming transfer window - according to reports.

Ceballos joined the Gunners on a season-long loan deal last summer after falling out of favour under Zinedine Zidane in the Spanish capital.

The midfielder has been a regular for the London side and former City assistant manager Mikel Arteta has spoke of his desire to keep the 23-year-old for another season.

However, Diario Madridista report City are also interested in signing the Spaniard as Pep Guardiola is believed to be a huge admirer of his talents.

City legend David Silva will leave the club at the end of the season but youngster Phil Foden is expected to step into his shoes. MEN Sport understand Ceballos is not a priority target for the Blues.

Elsewhere, Chelsea are reportedly preparing an offer to sign City defender John Stones.

Stones has struggled for form and fitness this season leading to suggestions he could be nearing the exit door this summer.

Arsenal were linked with a move for his services back in January though Arteta denied any speculation that he was looking to reunite with the England international.

Football Insider believe Frank Lampard is in the market for a new defender and believes Stones is high on the club's list of targets.

They claim Chelsea reckon the 26-year-old needs a transfer in order to revive his career.
