Man City end season with defeat to Liverpool FC in U18 Premier League

Manchester City U18s were beaten by Liverpool for the second time in a week on Tuesday in their final league game of the season.

Just five days after a valiant City side lost on penalties to Liverpool in the FA Youth Cup final, they hosted their rivals again at the CFA.

But just like last week, it was Liverpool who left with the victory, leaving City in eighth place in the U18 Premier League with 29 points from 22 games.

City u18s lined up with a more youthful side than the one that was beaten last week, with Rowan McDonald and Nabil Touaizi the only players remaining from the Youth Cup final. D'Margio Wright-Phillips, Henri Ogunby and Nathanael Ogbeta were also brought in.

However, an early goal from Jack Bearne - set up by former City player Bobby Duncan - settled the game.

Alpha Dionkou, Tommy Doyle, Jeremie Frimpong and Adria Bernabe started for the U23s after featuring in the Youth Cup final.
