Man City draw Oxford United in Carabao Cup quarter final

Manchester City will play Oxford away in the Carabao Cup quarter finals.

The draw, which took place on Thursday morning saw City drawn against the League One side with the clash due to be played week commencing 16th December.

City booked their place in the next round after a convincing 3-1 win against Southampton at the Etihad on Tuesday night thanks to two goals from Sergio Aguero and another from Nicolas Otamendi.

Pep Guardiola is hoping his side can retain the trophy after they beat Chelsea on penalties at Wembley earlier this year and the City boss was asked about wanting to win it again this year.

"When you are in the semi-final or final you can start to think about that but for the players to make a rhythm some players can rest," he said after the win against Southampton. "We have problems in the holding position and central defenders so that's why Gundo we didn't want to take a risk, Raz played a lot of minutes as did Kevin and David.

"It's good for the young players and the player that haven't played the last game. It's a  good comp, now we are in the quarter finals we will see the draw. You don't win four titles in one season when you don't care about games or competitions so we did it again, we played so seriously and so good in the first half. We are there. For the players who didn't play in the last game, it's good for me to see they are fit.

Here's the draw in full:

Aston Villa v Liverpool

Everton v Leicester

Oxford v Man City

Manchester United v Colchester
