Man City defender Kyle Walker on Liverpool's win at Aston Villa and their approach to Premier League

Man City star Kyle Walker has opened up on the Premier League title race and Liverpool's incredible comeback at Aston Villa.

Saturday saw plenty of twists and turns at the top of the table as both Liverpool and City came back from behind to beat their opponents 2-1.

Pep Guardiola's men trailed early on at home to Southampton but goals from Sergio Aguero and Walker (in the 86th minute) proved to be the difference.

Liverpool, however, went one step further by winning 2-1 at Villa despite trailing until the 87th minute when Andy Robertson equalised before Sadio Mane scored the winner in the fourth minute of extra time.

The delight amongst City fans will have been tempered by Liverpool's late heroics but Walker insists his side were not focused on the Reds, with the defender discussing the title race.

"We were concentrating on our game," Walker said after being asked if they were aware of what was happening at Villa Park, per the MEN.

"There are still so many games to play in the Premier League. Obviously, a lot of people talk about the title race, but anything can happen in football as you have just seen out there. We just need to keep doing our job, keep getting the three points and that’s all we can do really.

"I think we played a good game. They (Southampton) got one shot and they put it on the back of the net.

"That’s football. We had most of the ball possession and we caused their keeper lots of problems. I think the key was our patience and persistence, also being positve. Luckily, I was there at the right time."
