Man City defender Angelino seals last minute transfer

RB Leipzig have signed Manchester City defender Angelino on a last-minute loan deal.

The full-back only re-joined the Blues in the summer but the German side have signed the full-back in a last-minute move as the transfer window nears its closure.

City sold Angelino to PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2018 only to buy him back a year later but he has made just four Premier League starts this season.

The Bundesliga transfer window shut at 5pm on Friday but deals can be announced after the deadline providing the correct paperwork is submitted before the deadline.

It is understood Angelino's deal is a six-month loan with an option for Leipzig to buy him for €30million in the summer.

Guardiola has been full of praise for the defender when he has spoken about him this season, but his playing time has been limited.

"In training every day he’s fantastic,” Guardiola said back in September. “He played incredible in Eindhoven and we brought him back because of what happened with Mendy over the past few seasons and we had just Zinchenko.

“We played two seasons without a left-back because of Mendy’s injury. We know his quality upfront - in the final third he is so clever, and he is doing good and he played well.

“He knows the club. He was at the Etihad and he trained with us many times in the first season so it’s good.”
