Welcome to the latest edition of the City Is Ours daily digest, your dose of Manchester City news you might have missed.
It would feel a bit weird to go an entire day without reading about City's pursuit of a striker, wouldn't it? Well never fear, we've got the latest gossip for you right here as a mooted target reportedly snubs a move to the Premier League.
City aren't just on the lookout for a striker, they're also expected to attempt to freshen up their midfielder options next summer, and one of Pep Guardiola's Barcelona favourites is understood to be open to a reunion at the Etihad Stadium.
And finally, Chelsea are expected to be one of City's biggest rivals as Guardiola's men look to retain their Premier League crown this season but Thomas Tuchel could be on the verge of losing one of his greatest assets...
Guardiola dealt striker blow
Here we go again.
It seems a bit weird to suggest a side that's scored 56 goals already this season needs a striker, yet Guardiola's hunt for a focal point for his attack goes on.
With just about every club in Europe set to battle it out for Erling Haaland next summer, City are monitoring a number of alternatives and RB Salzburg frontman Karim Adeyemi is one of those understood to be on their shortlist.
However, 90min report that the youngster will prioritise a move back to Germany, meaning a host of Premier League clubs are set to miss out on his signature.
Our view: Alright, so it's not exactly ideal to hear one of your rumoured targets isn't interested in a move to England, but I truly believe City should back themselves in their pursuit of Haaland.
Budget is unlikely to be an issue, we can offer him the chance to work under the greatest manager in the world and there's even a chance we could be champions of both England and Europe next summer. Forget Adeyemi, go all-in for Haaland.
Busquets open to City switch
With Fernandinho possibly on his way out of the club next year and a lot of City's midfielders now on the 'wrong side' of 30, it's widely expected that Guardiola will look to sign a midfielder in the summer.
So, what better signing to make than 33-year-old Sergio Busquets.
The Spanish midfielder is understood to be open to a move to City, with El Nacional reporting that Barcelona president Joan Laporta 'won't make great efforts' to keep Busquets at Camp Nou.
The Barca stalwart is said to have always been seduced by the Premier League and would love to work under Guardiola once again.
Our view: I know I've mentioned the fact it doesn't really make sense to replace one veteran midfielder with another but I genuinely would love to see Busquets at City.
The man is a footballing genius and even if we only got a few years out of him I think it would be a great move. Rodri has come on leaps and bounds in recent seasons and working alongside a legend of the game is only going to improve him even further.
Chelsea star could head to the Etihad
Chelsea have a number of defenders whose futures at the club are unclear and Antonio Rudiger is arguably the most high-profile of them all.
The Germany international is yet to pen fresh terms at Stamford Bridge despite his current deal expiring in the summer, and 90min report that Tuchel is now resigned to losing the 28-year-old.
The report goes on to add that City are monitoring Rudiger's situation, though they're joined by a whole host of admirers including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and PSG.
Our view: With Nathan Ake's future up in the air, a move for Rudiger seems to make sense yet I really don't see it materialising.
Guardiola has already had issues with keeping all of his stellar centre-backs happy and adding Rudiger to a squad that already boasts Ruben Dias, John Stones and Aymeric Laporte would potentially cause even more issues.
