Man City confirm Nathan Ake and Ferran Torres shirt numbers

Nathan Ake will wear the number six shirt for Manchester City in the coming season.

The Blues have confirmed that Ferran Torres will take the number 21 vacated by David Silva, and announced that Ake will get the number last worn by Fernando four years ago.

Before that, the number six was worn by Joleon Lescott and Michael Johnson.

Ake signed for the Blues in a £41milion package earlier this month and is expected to report for pre-season training after returning from international duty with Holland next week.

Ake wore the number five for Bournemouth but wore the six for Chelsea, who he left to join the Cherries in 2017.

That means the only top-line shirt numbers left for the Blues are the number one vacated by Claudio Bravo, the three last held by Danilo, and the four which belonged to Vincent Kompany – and is expected to be inherited by any incoming centre back this summer.
