Man City check on David Silva injury after West Ham incident

David Sillva will be assessed at Manchester City this week after limping out of the West Ham game.

The Spaniard enjoyed himself alongside Kevin De Bruyne against a team struggling in a relegation battle, finding plenty of space to thread balls through to Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero.

But he appeared to suffer a problem with his knee in the final 10 minutes of the game and limped out of the action to be replaced by Phil Foden for the closing stages.

Silva has still started the majority of games this season despite him being in the final year of his decade at the Etihad, and with doubts over Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane going into a major trio of games against Leicester, Real Madrid, and Aston Villa the manager will be keen to have as many bodies as possible available for the crunch spell.

The injury to Silva isn't thought of as a serious one but he will be checked over in the next few days to make sure he is in good condition for the gauntlet of games.

"He told me he felt something but no big issue. Tomorrow we are going to know exactly," said Guardiola.

"He played really well and we will see in the next few days. He told me as a precaution after the action he had in the goal with the keeper and we will see."
