Man City 'cause problems for Barcelona amid Bernardo Silva interest' and other transfer rumours

Manchester City's demands for Bernardo Silva will reportedly cause issues for Barcelona in their pursuit of the midfielder. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca manager Xavi remains a big fan of Bernardo and has not 'forgotten' about him.

However, the demands that City are making in terms of transfer fee are believed to be ruling the Catalan giants out of any deal. Barcelona are currently experiencing financial issues and thus need to be careful about the expenditure they make in terms of transfer deals.

It is claimed that City see Bernardo as 'indispensable' which can be backed up by Pep Guardiola's recent glowing praise of the Portuguese star.

The report adds that the deal at Barcelona's end is 'practically impossible' as they cannot reach City's demands. Elsewhere, Sport are claiming that the La Liga side are still very much interested in the Blues' captain Ilkay Gundogan.

Gundogan was one of Guardiola's first-ever signings at the Etihad Stadium when he took over from Manuel Pellegrini. The 32-year-old has since built his way up to the main leadership group before this season he was voted City captain.

However, the problem for the Blues is that Gundogan's contract is set to expire at the end of the campaign and there is no sign as of yet of a new deal being agreed. The report claims that this indecision has led Barcelona to become adamant that they will complete the signing of the German midfielder.

Barca are looking for a replacement for Sergio Busquets for next season and they have earmarked Gundogan as the perfect player to fill that gap. Bernardo and Gundogan are not the only players linked to the Camp Nou though, City's on-loan full-back Joao Cancelo is also rumoured to be on their radar.
