Man City can set new FA Cup record against Watford at Wembley

Manchester City could claim an historic treble on Saturday should they defeat Watford in the FA Cup final.

After already winning the Carabao Cup and winning the race for the Premier League title in thrilling fashion over Liverpool, City just need to win at Wembley to become the first team in English football history to win all three domestic trophies on offer.

But that's not the only record City could break on Saturday, as they could also become the record scorers in an FA Cup campaign. A record currently held by Chelsea, 20, when they lifted the trophy in the 2011/12 season.

The goals have been flying in in all competitions this season for City and the FA Cup is no different.

They kicked off their route to the final with a 7-0 thrashing of the Championship's Rotherham United, which set the tone.

Burnley came next and they were dispatched 5-0 before the Blues traveled to League 2' Newport County and won 4-1.

There was yet another high scoring affair in the quarter-finals against Swansea, when City came out 3-2 winners which was followed up by an off-trend slender 1-0 victory in the semi-final against Brighton.

That takes their tally for the FA Cup this season to 20, matching Chelsea, thanks to data collected by Sporting Index.

So should City get on the scoresheet against the Hornets then they would have broke yet another record in their incredible season.
