When Leroy Sane fired past Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea at Old Trafford to give Manchester City a two-goal lead in the derby, it was significant for more than one reason.
First, he put daylight between City and United on an evening where the Blues knew a win would take them above Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

But the goal also ensured broke their own Premier League record for most goals scored in all competitions in a single season.
After Bernardo Silva had opened the scoring, Sane's strike took City's tally to an impressive 157 goals this season across the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
It eclipsed their previous record of 156 set in 2013/14 on their way to their second Premier League title.
After last season's success, City can become the first team to retain the title in ten years - and Sane's goal could well set them on their way to achieving that record on May 12.
City can also extend their scoring record as they face Burnley, Leicester and Brighton in their final three league fixtures, before an FA Cup final with Watford.
