Man City boss Pep Guardiola to auction famous 'coatigan' for charity

Pep Guardiola has confirmed fans will be given the opportunity to bid for his famous 'coatigan', after wearing it for the final time in Manchester City's FA Cup final.

The Spanish coach celebrated a domestic treble on Saturday afternoon after an emphatic 6-0 win in the FA Cup Final against Watford, with City matching the record for the largest winning margin in a cup final set by Bury in 1903.

Having already lifted the Carabao Cup and Premier League this season, City secured a clean sweep of domestic honours at Wembley.

A recognisable part of Guardiola 's guidance this season has been his 'coatigan', a mixture of a cardigan and a coat, but he is bidding farewell after his latest triump.

Speaking after the game, Guardiola confirmed his intention to auction the much-discussed garment on the club's website in the aid of charity.

“Yes I think it is for the charity. Now it is summertime so I don’t need it anymore so it is for you," he told the BBC.

The grey woollen hooded item, thought to be originally from his wife’s boutique in Barcelona, has been an ever-present for the Carabao Cup, league title and FA Cup campaigns.

Fans keen to get hold of Pep's very own fashion statement will be able to place their bid on Manchester City's official website.
