Goals from defenders John Stones and Ruben Dias sealed a hard-fought 2-1 win over in-form West Ham to stretch their lead over Manchester United at the top of the table to 13 points.
City, closing in on a third Premier League title in four years, are now 22 points ahead of champions Liverpool – after being 22 points behind Jurgen Klopp's men at this stage last season.

“What we have done so far is unusual, an exception. Normally you drop points, a draw, defeats, that is the normality in football.
“Three seasons ago we got 100 points, we were unstoppable. Every season is a new chapter and what you have done in the past counts for nothing.
“Everyone is so committed, every player knows he has to play well or someone will take his position.
“I am surprised in the toughest year for all society in the world, the toughest period in England for the weather, for the pitches to be able what we have done is amazing but ,of course, we don’t have titles yet.
“That's why this will count for nothing when we play Wolves on Tuesday.”
Hammers boss David Moyes was delighted with his stars who caused City problems – and could have grabbed a last minute equaliser through Issa Diop.
