Man City boss Pep Guardiola asked whether he will watch Manchester United vs Liverpool

Manchester City are back to winning ways in the Premier League and attention across Manchester now turns to Old Trafford as United prepare to host Liverpool on Sunday.

You might think all eyes will be fixed on United's meeting with Liverpool but that's certainly not the case for Blues boss Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard watched his side comfortably deal with Crystal Palace on Saturday as City cruised to a 2-0 victory at Selhurst Park.

City lost 2-0 at home to Wolves last time out but responded in the capital to cut the gap between themselves and Liverpool to five points courtesy of goals from Gabriel Jesus and David Silva.

But when it comes to the contest at Old Trafford, Guardiola insists he will not be watching.

City need Liverpool to drop points in the title race sooner rather than later but after overturning a seven-point gap last season to win the league for the second time in a row, Guardiola is remaining cool, calm and collected.

Asked whether he will be watching United vs Liverpool on Sunday, he told Sky Sports: "I have to see Atalanta."

City are not just focused on the Premier League this term and Guardiola summed up that approach when he explained that he will be watching highlights of Atalanta's 3-3 draw with Lazio.

Guardiola's men face Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday.
