Man City boss Pep Guardiola and Liverpool FC's Jurgen Klopp nominated for Best FIFA Coach of the Year

Before they ignite their growing competitive rivalry on the pitch in the Community Shield on Sunday, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp are once again facing off against each other.

Both men have been named on FIFA's 10-men shortlist for the Coach of the Year after their sublime seasons.

Guardiola led Man City to an historic domestic treble, as the Blues became the first mens team in England to ever achieve such a feat.

While Klopp's Liverpool ran City down to the wire in the Premier League, finishing second by a mere point and finishing with the highest points tally for a team finishing second ever, they then went on to win their sixth Champions League in an immense campaign.

Both men are highly deserving of winning the award but will face some stiff competition from the other nominees.

They include France's World Cup winning manager Didier Deschamps, Tottenham's Maurcio Pochettino, Marcelo Gallardo who led River Plate to Copa Libertadores success, Erik Ten Hag of Ajax and the man who took Peru to a rare Copa America final in Ricardo Gareca.

Djamel Belmadi, Fernando Santos and Tite, who won trophies for Algeria, Portugal and Brazil, respectively, this summer are also nominated.

Elsewhere, while none of City's male stars made the shortlist for the Best Player award new City striker Ellen White was nominated for Best Woman Player after her brilliant performance in this summer's Women's World Cup.
