Man City announce Premier League clash with Brighton has been rescheduled

Manchester City's trip to Brighton & Hove Albion has now been re-arranged for live TV coverage.

City 's penultimate game of the season will now take place on Tuesday, May 18, with the kick-off time of 7pm. BT Sport will show the match live.

The top-flight clash will be in front of approximately 10,000 supporters at the Amex Stadium, with the Premier League confirming home fans will be allowed to attend due to the UK Government easing some coronavirus restrictions.

However, no City supporters will be allowed to attend the Amex, with the Premier League confirming this news on Wednesday afternoon.

"Following consultation with clubs, it was agreed matches would not be open to away supporters due to varying operational challenges across the league and the need to deliver a consistent approach, while maximising the opportunity for home-fan attendance," a league statement read.

"The safety and security of supporters is of paramount importance. Clubs have a proven track record of providing Covid-safe environments and have operational plans in place ready to safely welcome supporters back to their stadiums.

"Fans have been greatly missed at Premier League matches and this marks a key step towards full stadiums, including away fans, from the start of the 2021/22 season."

But there will be an opportunity for City supporters to watch their team when they take on Everton at the Etihad Stadium just five days after the trip down to the south coast.

Pep Guardiola will hope that the Premier League title has been wrapped up by then, but it's an opportunity for him and his side to potentially parade the trophy in front of fans that have been deprived of watching their team in the flesh this season.
