Manchester City will do battle with Liverpool one final time this season as the Premier League title goes down to the last day once again, just like it did in 2019.
Jurgen Klopp's side came from a goal down to beat Southampton at St. Mary's on Tuesday night, with the Reds' much changed side winning 2-1 on the South Coast, moving to within a point of the City.
City's 2-2 draw with West Ham last Sunday gave their title rivals hope, with Pep Guardiola 's side forced to rue several missed opportunities including Riyad Mahrez 's late penalty miss after a disastrous first half performance.

This means that City must win against former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa at the Etihad this Sunday, to win their fourth Premier League crown in the past five seasons under the Spaniard.
Whilst the title is within City's grasp, many on Merseyside will be hoping their former skipper will aid their quest to lift a second Premier League title, and it still remains a possibility.
The Reds play host to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield on Sunday, and a win would give them the title if City draw or lose at home to Villa.
The goal difference which stands at +72 for City and +66 for Liverpool is now all but irrelevant, unless Aston Villa emerge 6-0 winners at the Etihad, and Liverpool were to draw 5-5 with Bruno Lage's side. That would force a first ever Premier League play-off, but that outcome is highly unlikely.
