Man City and Liverpool FC fans finally agree about something after Manchester United lose at Everton

In the last few weeks, some Manchester United fans have been pondering whether they would prefer to lose the Manchester Derby to prevent Liverpool from winning the Premier League.

One of Liverpool and Manchester City will win the league this season in a pulsating title race, with City knowing they will be Champions if they win all their remaining games.

Next up for City is United at Old Trafford, so some supporters on the red side of the city were discussing which rival would be a more bearable winner - and how the derby result would impact things.

Over in Liverpool, Reds fans were hoping for United to take points off City which would see Jurgen Klopp's men win a first Premier League title.

But United were on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline to Everton on Sunday, having lost 4-0 on aggregate to Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals before that.

It was hardly ideal preparation from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men, and Liverpool fans were much less confident of a City slip-up come full time at Goodison Park.

Man City have pipped Liverpool FC to set a Premier League season best

With the title race so close all season, City and Liverpool fans have been in disagreement over any minor refereeing decision or injury blow that could determine where the title ends up.

Now, both sets of fans are united in their expectation of a comfortable City win in Wednesday's derby - and United fans might not have a choice over conceding the game to thwart Liverpool.
